Beneath the Green Veil explores the city at the threshold between visibility and concealment. Seen from an imagined aerial perspective, fragments of urban structure emerge through an expansive field of layered greens, as though the built environment were being gradually absorbed by landscape, atmosphere, and time. Unlike the more clearly mapped territories of the series, the boundaries between city and nature are deliberately uncertain here. Dense clusters of geometric fragments and delicate linear networks suggest settlements, roads, and infrastructure, yet they repeatedly disappear beneath translucent layers of color and texture. Scattered white forms drift across the surface like cloud fragments or atmospheric interference. They interrupt the terrain's continuity and reinforce the sensation of looking through a shifting veil—a landscape that can never be perceived in its entirety. The green palette is not simply descriptive of nature. It becomes a spatial condition in itself: a field through which traces of human organization appear, recede, and re-emerge. The city no longer dominates the territory but exists within it, partially hidden and increasingly inseparable from its surroundings. In Beneath the Green Veil, Vahagn Bagoyan transforms the aerial urban landscape into a meditation on concealment, transformation, and perception. What lies beneath the surface is never fully revealed; the city survives as a network of traces, suspended between presence and disappearance.
