Silent Drift explores the city from an elevated, almost detached perspective, where urban structure, landscape, and atmosphere merge into a single shifting territory. The composition unfolds like an aerial map without fixed boundaries. Irregular fields of ochre, earth brown, muted green, and charcoal form a fragmented terrain, while delicate concentrations of pale lines suggest distant settlements, roads, and networks of human presence. The city is visible, yet never fully defined. Across this intricate surface, expansive white forms drift into the composition like clouds seen from above. Their softness contrasts with the fractured geometry beneath them, partially concealing the landscape and interrupting its legibility. What lies below becomes uncertain — alternately revealed and obscured. This tension between mapping and disappearance is central to the work. The landscape appears to continue beyond what can be seen, while the drifting atmospheric forms introduce a different sense of time: slower, quieter, and independent of the structures below. In Silent Drift, Vahagn Bagoyan transforms the aerial city into a meditation on distance and perception. Architecture loses its permanence, boundaries become unstable, and the urban territory seems to exist only momentarily beneath a moving atmosphere — present, disappearing, and reappearing in silence.
