Urban Mood II
- 160 x 80 cm
€25,000
Urban Mood II explores the emotional dimension of the contemporary city—how architecture, movement, atmosphere, and distance combine to create a constantly shifting perception of urban space. The composition unfolds through distinct horizontal layers. A dense network of lines and fragmented structures occupies the lower field, suggesting infrastructure, circulation, and the city's accumulated complexity. Above it, the space gradually opens toward a luminous expanse of turquoise, blue, and muted grey, where architectural geometry intersects with atmospheric, almost cloud-like forms. Fine vertical and diagonal lines connect these different spatial zones, creating a tension between structure and openness. They suggest an invisible framework extending through the city — a system that organizes space while remaining in continuous motion. Unlike a conventional cityscape, Urban Mood II does not describe a particular location. Instead, it captures a state of urban experience: the simultaneous sensation of density and distance, order and uncertainty, physical structure and open horizon. Through this balance, Vahagn Bagoyan presents the city not simply as architecture, but as an emotional and spatial condition — a place experienced as much through atmosphere and memory as through its physical form.

€22,500
“Horizon of Urban Force” explores the city as a dynamic field of tension between structure and atmosphere. The composition unfolds horizontally, echoing the spatial rhythm of expanding urban territories. Layered bands of color suggest architectural strata, shifting light, and distant horizons, while intersecting linear elements introduce a sense of construction, mapping, and invisible urban energy flows. The painting balances calm expanses with dense structural intersections, reflecting the dual nature of contemporary cities — both ordered and unpredictable. Through abstraction, the work captures not a specific place, but the psychological presence of the city: its expansion, pressure, movement, and quiet intensity.

Urban Mood I

Urban Mood I explores the contemporary city as a space suspended between architectural density and atmospheric openness. The composition develops through horizontal layers, where fragments of urban structure accumulate below an expansive field of blue. A dense network of fine black lines crosses the lower part of the work, evoking infrastructure, circulation, construction, and the metropolis's continuous movement. These darker trajectories are counterbalanced by long white lines extending across the sky, introducing a second, more open system of spatial connections. The upper part of the composition is dominated by luminous blue and expressive, cloud-like forms. Here, the rigidity of architectural geometry gives way to something more fluid and atmospheric. Between the city and the sky lies an ambiguous transitional zone where structure appears to dissolve into distance. Rather than portraying a recognizable place, Urban Mood I captures the sensation of looking across a city whose boundaries seem almost impossible to define. Density and openness, precision and spontaneity, construction and atmosphere coexist within the same visual field. Through these contrasts, Vahagn Bagoyan transforms the urban landscape into an emotional experience — a city perceived not only through its physical structures, but through movement, light, distance, and the changing atmosphere above it.
